Sunset Obstetrics & Gynecology, LLC wants every patient to be able to use this website, including people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or use a keyboard, screen reader, magnifier or voice control.

Our standard

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium, as the standard for this website. We work toward meeting it on every page and check new content against it before it goes live.

What we have done

• Tested every main page with automated WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 AA checks, on desktop and phone screens, and fixed the issues found.
• Made the whole site usable with a keyboard alone, including the menus, with a visible outline that shows where you are on the page and a "Skip to content" link at the top.
• Set text and link colors to meet contrast requirements, and underlined links inside paragraphs so they do not depend on color.
• Gave images text descriptions, and gave pages a clear heading structure for screen readers.
• Made the privacy banner reachable and usable by keyboard and screen reader, with Accept and Decline buttons of equal size.
• Kept text resizable and the layout usable when zoomed in or viewed on a phone.

We do not use accessibility overlay widgets. Instead, we make changes to the website itself.

Known limitations

• PDF forms. Some of the downloadable forms on our Patient Resources page are scanned documents that screen readers cannot read. We are replacing them with accessible versions. Until then, call 305-274-2511 and we will go through the form with you over the phone or at your visit, or provide it in another format.
• Patient portal. Online booking takes you to our patient portal, which is run by athenahealth. We do not control its design. If you have trouble using it, call us and we will book your appointment by phone.
